Terms of Service
These terms govern your use of the Status Legal website and describe how our flat-fee immigration services work.
Acceptance of these terms
By using this website or submitting our qualification form, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.
No attorney-client relationship from this website
Using this website, submitting the qualification form, or exchanging preliminary emails with us does not create an attorney-client relationship. An attorney-client relationship is established only upon execution of a written engagement agreement and receipt of payment.
How we work
We operate entirely online. We do not take walk-ins, do not offer on-demand phone consultations, and do not hold in-person meetings. Case communication happens by email and through your secure client portal during business hours.
Flat fees and filing fees
Every service is quoted as a flat attorney fee stated before you begin. Government filing fees and third-party costs are billed separately and itemized in writing before you file. We do not bill hourly and do not require a retainer.
Government filing fees are set by USCIS and may change. If a government fee changes after your quote but before filing, we will notify you of the revised total before proceeding. Add-on services are priced separately and disclosed before they begin.
Payment and refunds
Your flat fee is due at the start of representation, after you sign your engagement agreement. Government filing fees paid to USCIS on your behalf are non-refundable once submitted. Refund terms for the attorney portion of your fee are set out in your engagement agreement.
Your responsibilities
You agree to provide accurate, complete, and timely information and documents. Immigration outcomes depend heavily on the accuracy of what you provide. Delays or denials caused by incomplete or inaccurate information are not the responsibility of the firm.
No guarantee of outcome
Immigration decisions are made by USCIS, the Department of State, and other government agencies. No attorney can guarantee approval, processing time, or any specific outcome in your case.
Website content and intellectual property
All content on this site is provided for general informational purposes and is owned by Status Legal or used with permission. You may not reproduce or redistribute it without written consent.
Third-party platforms
Our qualification form, client portal, and payment processing are hosted on third-party platforms. Your use of those platforms is also subject to their own terms and privacy policies.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Status Legal is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of this website. Nothing in these terms limits any obligation that cannot be limited under applicable rules of professional conduct.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the site after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
